Wellness and lifestyle top of mind for visionaries behind the Innovation District in Penticton

The developers involved in the upcoming Innovation District development in Penticton want to create a home where residents have access to rich amenities and connectivity.

With a vision of fostering community within a community, the father-son team, Charan Sethi and Rocky Sethi from Tien Sher Group and Stryke Group, are ready to introduce the first phase of the project.

Dubbed “Nikola”, as a nod to innovator Nikola Tesla, the first building will feature a limited release of 127 condos along with retail opportunities.

What makes it different from other condominium projects is its incredible focus on building community.

In most cities, people are used to going home to their apartments and staying to themselves. Many will not even know their neighbours at all. The buildings at the Innovation District are designed with the intention to address a lack of connectedness in our cities.

Rocky describes the Innovation District as having “walkability, health and wellness” as key components. Residents will have the benefit of living in a hub that includes all their needs, so commuting across town by car will be greatly reduced.

Charan envisions an environment where neighbours can get to know each other while enjoying common spaces together, thereby “creating a village feeling again.”

Nikola, for example, will have a stunning rooftop deck where residents will get to take in expansive views and the incredible Okanagan climate.

Nestled amongst mountains and between two lakes, Nikola will provide the best of both worlds. While being minutes away from beaches and parks, it’s also close to the regional hospital.

“It’s an important community asset not just for Penticton but for the entire South Okanagan,” remarks Rocky. “We’re able to create housing and retail spaces across from the hospital and really service not just the staff there but the people who use services within the community as well.

Nikola, the first residential offering, boasts many amenities that are useful to residents and contribute to a great lifestyle, such as a gym, yoga studio, and a co-working space with a podcast room. The rooftop patio also includes barbeque areas and a dry sauna so that people can enjoy the company of others, or unwind on their own.

For pet owners, there will be a convenient pet wash station, and for people who love to cycle, a bike repair area will keep them active.

“You’re not buying into just a building, you’re actually buying into a community,” explains Charan.

The walkability of the new district also encourages health and well being, and the units will be occupied by people of all different ages and backgrounds with an approachable price point starting at just over $279K. Homes will range from studios to 3 bedrooms in size.

In a first of its kind, the project will have two presentation centres. Interested buyers will be able to access the Whalley Presentation Centre in Surrey beginning on June 15, 2024, as well the Penticton Presentation Centre on June 22, 2024.
