Rockfordians enjoy food truck Tuesdays, Sinissippi Park despite heat wave | MyStateline

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockfordians chose to embrace the heat so they could still enjoy food truck Tuesdays as well as Sinissippi Park.

The Forest City experienced another day in a row of 90-degree weather. People said you just have to be prepared.

“Always have to hydrate. Try to wear, like, white clothes sometimes and not wear a shirt or a hat and, you know, hope for a breeze,” said Tony Henderson.

People were not just outside today for the food trucks but also for Sinissippi Park.

“So the wind helps a lot and it’s really not that humid today so it’s actually pretty nice out,” said Joe.

Over at the Sinissippi Park Music Shell the Rockford Wind ensemble was getting ready for their performance at Music in the Park.

“Well you’re talking to a tuba player so we’re accustomed to hot air,” said Dr. Arnie Rosen. “There’s never any shortage of hot air around here. So we probably won’t keep cool, will mop our brows, we’ll drink water, and the show will go on.”
