Local rescue shelter asks for pet food donations or will have to close free pantry
GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — A rescue shelter in Gonzales will be forced to close its pet food pantry if it doesn’t receive donations soon.
In a Monday Facebook post, Rescue Alliance said they would have to close the Louisiana Pet Food Bank and asked the community to help save the program.
“We are reaching out to our community in a time of need, asking for your support to keep this essential program running. Your donations, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference in the lives of these beloved pets and their families,” Rescue Alliance said in the post.
Monetary donations can be made through PayPal, but the shelter also has items that can be bought and sent through Amazon.
Rescue Alliance is located at 12484 Hwy. 44. See animals up for adoption.

Dear friends and supporters,
It is with a heavy heart that we share some difficult news. Due to a lack of donations coming into the Louisiana Pet Food Bank, we are faced with the heartbreaking decision to close down this vital program. The Pet Food Bank has been a lifeline for so many furry companions in need, providing food and support to families facing financial hardships.
We are incredibly grateful for the impact this program has had and the countless lives it has touched. However, without your generous donations, we are unable to sustain the Pet Food Bank and continue our mission of helping those in need.
We are reaching out to our community in a time of need, asking for your support to keep this essential program running. Your donations, no matter how big or small, can make a world of difference in the lives of these beloved pets and their families.
Please consider making a donation today to help us save the Louisiana Pet Food Bank. Together, we can ensure that no pet goes hungry and no family is forced to make difficult choices.
