Local food truck recognized by Morton Chamber of Commerce

MORTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A ribbon cutting Tuesday afternoon celebrated the one-year anniversary of The Long Road Home, a Morton-based food truck that travels all across central Illinois, providing people with tacos, quesadillas, and other food items.

Kate and Joe Long are the co-owners of the business, which can also function as a catering service, and they serve food at weddings too.

The business had been a dream of Joe’s for years, and he emotionally reflected on the past year of his dream becoming a reality.

“I’d been wanting to do it for years and years and years, and actually getting the courage to hop out there on your own was easier said than done. But I’ve got my partner in crime, so we decided to do it and it’s been an adventure ever since,” he said.

Representatives from the Morton Chamber of Commerce attended the event and celebrated with Kate, Joe, and family members of theirs.

Kate and Joe say that the business has made travels to several central Illinois locations outside of Morton, including Peoria, Bloomington, and Washington. They also said that they will feed anyone, regardless of if they can afford the meal or not, saying they want to be good community members.

If you are interested in learning more about the business, you can follow their Facebook page here. You can learn more about where the food truck will be on a given day, their menu, as well as contact information.
