Here’s Where To Get Two Brand New Stasis Fragments

Destiny 2 had a monster pile of patch notes for all the additions and changes coming to the game, and over a month ago, they detailed how Stasis was being buffed and changed to be based around Frost Armor, a new damage mitigation concept that uses collected Stasis shards.

They did in fact reveal that two new Stasis fragments were coming, but I think for many players, myself included, things got a bit lost in the massive release of The Final Shape. And besides that, nowhere in either the reveal of the fragments or the patch notes themselves did Bungie ever remind us where to get them. And there is no in-game indicator to do so.

You need to buy these fragments, they will not be auto-added to your inventory. And where do you buy Stasis fragments? You may also have forgotten that, but it’s not from Ikora, it’s from the seldom-seen, seldom-visited Elsie Bray, the Exo Stranger, who hangs out in the south of Europa.

There is no indicator or prompt to visit her. Her icon isn’t even flashing, but if you want to get these fragments you need to buy them from her, and on each class you have as well. Again, were it not for a person on Twitter, I probably would have gone months without realizing it, so here I am, sharing the gospel to you.

The new fragments are:

• Whisper of Chill – Stasis weapon kills have the chance to spawn a Stasis shard
• Whisper of Reversal – While you have Frost Armor, melee damage slows your target

The Chill fragment is a direct response to shard generation buff requests, so now that’s going to be easier with a Stasis weapon, which your Stasis build probably has. It’s the only fragment with the ability to generate Stasis shards by itself.

Whisper of Reversal is probably more niche, but it procs on any melee damage and stacking slow means you can freeze enemies by just repeated punching. There are also a few other fragments or aspects that use slow as a proc for other stuff. But again, somewhat limited uses for that one.

Regardless, I am sure you want to have every tool in your Stasis toolkit available. Stasis is now free for all players, so while new players may pick up the fragments when they get all the others, veteran players may not know to return to Elsie to get these other ones. So go do that.
