Greed may be good, but not for food shoppers | Letters

The basic necessities of life are becoming out of reach of most Americans: rent, health care, education and child care. We accept this as the price of living in the Unites States, but it’s the product of greed and the notion that the government cannot or should not do anything to stop it.

Rising rents are the direct result, among other factors that can be remedied, of housing undersupply. The cost of food has spiraled out of control, with corporations blaming it on the fallout from the pandemic.
