Goldie Hawn is ‘never without a guard’ after back-to-back home invasions
Goldie Hawn is “never without” her security guard after experiencing back-to-back home invasions.
The actress told “Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa” podcast listeners on Wednesday that she and Kurt Russell were out to dinner when their home was ransacked.
“They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets,” she recalled of the robbery without specifying when exactly it took place.
Hawn said she “just lost it” when she realized what had happened.
“They completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated,” the 78-year-old noted. “They got a lot of my goodies if you know what I mean.”
Four months later, the Oscar winner was home by herself when she heard a “big thump” — which she later found out was another attempted invasion.
“The next day, we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house,” Hawn said.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she continued. “What is happening here?”
She went on to assure Ripa that she is now “never without a guard … especially when [she’s] alone,” adding that she has a “nice relationship with the guard” and feels “good” when they’re around.
Hawn revealed the past robberies while gushing about how “safe” she feels living in Palm Desert now, calling the crime in Los Angeles “terrible.”
The “Cactus Flower” star said that having a home outside of Hollywood “does give [her] peace.”
Hawn and Russell also have property in Aspen, Colo.
The couple have been together since 1983 and each have kids from previous relationships, as well as their shared son, Wyatt.
The actor, 73, welcomed son Boston with ex-wife Season Hubley in 1980.
As for Hawn’s adult children, Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson have been mostly estranged from their father, Bill Hudson.
Kate clarified in April that she has “no expectation” from the singer despite him recently saying their “rift is healing.”
