Firerose accuses ‘volatile’ Billy Ray Cyrus of ‘extreme’ domestic abuse amid messy divorce

Firerose has accused Billy Ray Cyrus of “extreme” domestic abuse in a fiery response to his divorce filing.

In the singer’s counter complaint, which was obtained by People Tuesday but filed June 14, she accused her estranged husband of “unpredictable and volatile” behavior that equated to “extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse.”

Her court documents, which were submitted in Tennessee, claimed his behavior was influenced by his “persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana.”

In another part of her filing, Firerose, 36, said she “walked on eggshells” in their marital home as the date of her preventative double mastectomy approached.

“With Wife’s major surgery date looming, she was reasonably afraid to leave or seek any type of help because she feared that Husband would interfere with her surgery or her lengthy recovery at home,” her filing read.

Cyrus, 62, allegedly served Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges, with divorce papers less than 24 hours before her surgery.

In a statement sent to Page Six by his rep, Cyrus denied Firerose’s allegations. billyraycyrus/Instagram

However, Cyrus refuted such claims — and said Firerose is still madly in love with him — via his rep in a statement to Page Six.

“We regret that Ms. Hodges has chosen to litigate this 7-month marriage in the press and has left Mr. Cyrus with no recourse but to set the record straight,” the statement began.

“The allegations that Ms. Hodges states in her answer and counter-complaint are especially confusing and suspicious in its veracity since she begged Mr. Cyrus to forgive her and take her back only 2 days after he filed his pleadings to dissolve his marriage.”

“When Mr. Cyrus returned to his home 2 days after Ms. Hodges was required, by Court Order, to vacate his residence of over 25 years and allowed him to return, he discovered a handwritten note from Ms. Hodges professing her love and need to be with Mr. Cyrus.”

Page Six obtained a copy of the hand-written note mentioned as well as a lengthy text message Firerose allegedly sent to Cyrus. In the message, she allegedly wrote that she “can’t live without” the “Hannah Montana” alum and called him her “hero.”

He filed for divorce from Firerose in late May after walking down the aisle with her in October 2023 in “the most perfect, ethereal celebration of love.”

He cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as the reason for their separation and also asked that their union be annulled on the grounds of fraud.

On Friday, Cyrus requested a temporary restraining order from Firerose to prevent her from using his money.

He also accused her of racking up $96,986.05 worth of purchases on his American Express between May 23 and June 7.

In response, Firerose argued that she’s had access to his cards since they moved in together in 2022 and never had a limit.

She also claimed in her filing that $45,000 of the money in question was an accidental charge and has been refunded.
