Ex-Palace official, aide travel together at least 8 times
Overseas travel was apparently a favorite activity of a former Malacañang official (MO) with a young aide (YA) whose company he seemed fond of.
Government records showed MO and YA flew abroad eight times in a span of four years, from 2019 to 2023. Their shortest trip lasted overnight, while the longest time they were gone was 24 days.
MO and YA’s escapades continued even after MO stepped down from his plum post, with more than half of their trips happening in the past year.
While the frequency of their trips might seem unimpressive for globetrotters, keep in mind that overseas travel was restricted in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 elections also made politikos busier, affecting their vacation plans.
MO’s preference for traveling with YA has raised eyebrows because YA doesn’t have a background in either security or health, which would’ve been valuable for MO.
