Gordon Ramsay, 57, shows off gruesome injuries after scary bike accident
Gordon Ramsay had quite the scare just before Father’s Day.
The famous chef, 57, revealed he suffered a scary accident while riding his bike in Connecticut earlier this week.
Ramsay addressed his Instagram followers with a video where he detailed the incident which admittedly “really shook [him].”
“I’m lucky to be here,” he said before he cautioned all the dads to wear their helmets.
“Honestly, you’ve got to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the journey is,” he said.
The “Hell’s Kitchen” host then pulled up his chef jacket to reveal a large purple bruise climbing up the side of his stomach from his waist to his ribs.
“I’m in pain and it’s been a brutal week. But, I’m getting through it.”
Along with two before and after photos of the accident, he also shared another update on his health.
“I’m doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” Ramsay said.
He went on to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the New London hospital where he received treatment for his injuries, but saved the biggest thank you for his helmet “that saved [his] life.”
Ramsay has been otherwise busy over the last month as he promotes the latest installment of Fox’s “Food Stars.”
Lisa Vanderpump has teamed up with Ramsay for the sophomore installment of the series, which sees the duo searching for the next great food and beverage entrepreneur.
In a new twist, contestants will pitch their products, services or business plans to the moguls — who will then handpick talent to join their respective teams. Whoever survives a subsequent “Business Bootcamp” will win a cash prize of $250,000 to invest in their enterprise.
“Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars” Season 2 premiered on May 22 and airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
