Sights and sounds of the AES 500 Festival Parade
The AES 500 Festival Parade marched through downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, May 25, 2024, on the eve of the 108th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
After a long COVID-induced break, the Taste of Indy, which had been Indiana’s largest food festival with bites and drinks offered from area restaurants, bars and breweries, is returning next month.
The event takes place at White River State Park on Saturday, July 6.
Expect live performances and interactive chef and artist demonstrations throughout the festival, along with wine and beer gardens and a dedicated kids’ play area.
Who’s performing at Taste of Indy?
The main stage will feature performances throughout the day, with Indianapolis Jazz Hall of Fame saxophonist Rob Dixon headlining.
Guests can check out local artists at the arts pavilion, health screenings at the Kroger Health & Mobile Pharmacy, a 20-foot Gamestar Mobile video game truck; the U.S. Army 30-foot rock climbing wall, karaoke, Cinnamon the Clown, face painters and balloon artists.
The Taste of Indy festival started in 2012 on the north basin of the canal and last drew more than 18,000.
The 2024 event takes place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission is $15 per person and tickets are available at tasteofindy.org. Ages 10 and younger are free. Food tickets are priced at $1 per ticket and can be redeemed for food, beverages and alcohol at the event.
