Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell Home Robbed Followed by Home Invasion Attempt
Goldie Hawn revealed in a new interview that the L.A. home she shares with longtime partner Kurt Russell was robbed several years back while the couple was out to dinner. Despite assuming “the odds are that’s not gonna happen again,” Hawn experienced an attempted home invasion four months later.
Regarding the first incident, Hawn said the couple returned from a night out in 2020 to find their home ransacked. “I went up to the stairs and I walked into my closet and I just lost it,” Hawn told Kelly Ripa during a conversation on the TV personality’s SiriusXM podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera. “They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets, and they completely knocked down my door, which is a safe door, so they’re very, very sophisticated and they got a lot of my goodies.”
Though the veteran star did not offer specifics about the home, the couple is known to maintain a residence in Pacific Palisades in addition to homes in Colorado and New York. It’s unclear if a police report was filed or if the thieves were apprehended.
Suffering through one burglary, Hawn assumed it would not happen again, however, four months later, she was home alone when she was startled by a loud noise upstairs.
“I’m in the house by myself. It’s the dog and I hear this big thump upstairs, and I was alone. Kurt wasn’t there and I went, ‘What the hell was that?’” she recalled to Ripa. “It was just like, was that a sonic boom? Did somebody jump somewhere? I mean, and as it turned out, the next day we discovered that they were trying to get in my bedroom while I was in the house.”
The back-to-back crimes have led the couple to beef up their security measures. Hawn said that she has employed “a guard,” particularly when she’s alone. She added, “I’m never without a guard.”
Part one of Hawn’s conversation with Ripa on Let’s Talk Off Camera debuted on June 11, with a second installment scheduled to drop next week. The chat finds Hawn opening up on her famous children, her early career as a dancer in Las Vegas, recalling some of her most iconic roles, favorite co-stars, her foundation MindUp, and more.
Other stars who have experienced home invasions or robberies include Sandra Bullock, Mariah Carey, David and Victoria Beckham, Drake, Kim Kardashian, Benedict Cumberbatch, Hilary Duff, Paris Hilton and more.
